The volume of singlefamily housing sales in recent years is an indicator of the trend. Sales of single-family housing have soared since their recession low point at the beginning of 1975. Sales of existing homes reached record levels by the end of 1975. Every month since then the number of existing homes sold has exceeded the level ever recorded for that month.
