Clarence Jackson Miller died Tuesday, January 25, 1983, in Warren Memorial Hospital.
One of the last of the grand old men of the county, Mr. Miller, with his fedora hat and ever present cigar, was a familiar sight at the county court house. There was always a chair for Jack, as he was known to his friends, in the clerk’s office, the treasurer’s office or the commissioner of revenue’s office. There was always a willing listener, eager to hear the wonderful tales of Rappahannock and Washington history that Mr. Miller could usually be persuaded to relate.
