1980 Recommendations

A 1980 study group composed of school board members recommended these capital improvements, although the board failed to request any construction funds in that year’s budget:

Estabrook said that the January, 1983 total, adjusted for inflation, would be $1,626,102.

New Proposal

In keeping with the riature of the times, Estabrook said that he’d worked with the space requirements to come up with a cheaper plan that would address the same needs at about one-third the cost of the 1980 plan.

’’I’ve enjoyed this,” he said. “It’s been a puzzle trying to come up with a plan.” The superintendent said that he realized that the 1980 plan was based entirely on new construction. His plan would construct a standard size syninasium and rearrange the space taken by the old gym to fill cllssroom and storage needs.

New RCHS Gym

Estabrook projected a plan of the high school with an overlay rearranging available space. Some of the changes were: —the existing gym space used for an expanded library and stage area;
