Cordani was named Betty Crocker Homemaker of Tomorrow on the basis of a high score on a “homemaking” test. For her accomplishment, she was made eligible for a college scholarship and was awarded a silver charm by General Mills.
Work stopped on the bridge over Rush River on the Little Washington by-pass section of Route 211. Frigid weather made it impossible to pour cement.
Bobby Scott, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Scott of Amissville arrived in Vietnam where he was to serve with the U.S. Army.

CANDIDATES were announced
for the Sweetheart
contest held annually at Rappahannock County High School. Sharon Suter, 8th grade; / Eleanor Rector, 9th grade; Shirley Dodson, 10th grade; Ann Deal, 11th grade; Linda Beahm, 12th grade were named as prospective sweethearts. The sweetheart is elected by ballot—a penny a vote, and proceeds go to the S.C.A. Student Scholarship Fund. The winner and runners-up are announced at a Valentine party in February.
