The new office holds the handsome mail box case that Mr. Cannon built from HIS new office when he moved the mail from his mother’s old store across the road. “It was 1954 carved on the top. That’s the year he built it,” noted Marty.
Although with the tradition of Cannon family postmasters, the service at the new office remains the same. Castleton’s post office remains a full service operation. “Stamps, money orders, C.O.D., packages—we can do everything here you can do anywhere else,” the postmaster concluded.
