Somebody’s trying to tell someone something: The husband of a Rappahannock News staffer was enough of a believer two months ago to order two play-off tickets at Memorial Stadium and two tickets to see the Birds play in the World Series. But Dame Fortune didn’t smile on this display of faith. The tickets ended up being for Baltimore’s game one with the Sox and game one with the Phillies. Sports fans know that the Orioles swept to the world championship after losing just a single game in each series. Sports fans will recall also that both of those 2-1 losses were in the rain. Sports fans will also remember that the defeats came in game one against the Sox and game one against the Phillies.
It has been discovered that Rappahannock moviegoers prefer lemonade, iced tea and homemade cookies at the concession stand.
