Culpeper and Fauquier Counties put animals to death by injection and bury the animals in a designated area of their landfill. The bodies are buried immediately and deeply to avoid contamination. In talking to Culpeper Animal League, they do not have the facilities to help us. However, according to Fauquier SPCA, they will accept our animals after they’ve been held the minimum five (5) days, inject and bury them for a donation. It could only be a temporary arrangement, however, for twelve months with possible renewal for another twelve months until we provided our own. They do not have the facilities to hold our animals nor do they want dead animals.
