2. I served as sheriff of Rappahannock County for 10 years. I am a member of the planning commission and a former member of the county’s board of zoning appeals. I believe I have good insight into the current problems and any future problems that we may face in Rappahannock County.
3. I support the majority of the RCQE’s goals. I think current vocational programs should be studied and possible alternatives explored; the cost assessment for the high school addition should be completed and literary loan or other funds applied for; a specific curriculum for the gifted and talented program should be published by the end of the first semester.
But I think the supervisors should retain the option of cutting the school budget by categories. 1 think an index pay scale for teachers needs more study before it is implemented.
I agree that the high school complex needs a thorough study and reorganization. There is a possibility that there will ave to be an addition made to the complex. I think a workable plan should be on record before the price tag is fixed.
I support the remainder of the RCQE goals: offer students use of computers at both schools, offer foreign language to elementary students, study merit pay for
