Mt. Lebanon

Anniversary Tea

An old-fashioned high-tea, commemorating the 160th anniversary of the founding of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church, will be served in the education building of the church on Rt. 622 at Scrabble, 2 miles south of Woodville, on Sunday afternoon, October 23rd, from 3 to 6 p.m. Ladies of the church will be dressed in early 19th century costumes.

Rev. William Lancaster invites all residents of Rappahannock County to join in celebrating Mt. Lebanon’s Sesquicentennial by attending this tea.

Woman’s Club To Meet

The Rappahannock Woman’s Club will meet on Tuesday, October 26, at 8:30 p.m. at the home of Betty Settle in Washington.

All members and interested persons are urged to attend.

Halloween Fun Fair

A Halloween Fun Fair will be held at the Community Center on Route 628 in Washington on Saturday, October 29, beginning at 6 p.m.

Halloween games and a cake walk will be featured throughout the evening. All area youth are invited to participate.

New Dance Session

Rappahannock Aerobic Dance is beginning a new eight-week session that will run from October 24-December 16.

Classes will be held at the Flint Hill Fire Hall on Monday and Wednesday, 4-6 p.m., and Tuesday and Friday mornings, 9-10 a.m. Evening classes will be offered at the elementary school, 6:30-7:30.

Cost is $30 for twice a week classes and $40 for unlimited attendance. New students are welcome. Call Rose Ann Sharp at 676-3887 for more information.

Benefit Dinner Planned

The Sperryville Ladies Auxiliary will be serving another of their delicious dinners on Saturday, November 5 at the fire hall. Serving time will be 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. with carry-out services from 4:30 until 5:15 p.m.

Menu will consist of turkey, dressing, gravy, sweet potatoes, green peas, scalloped potatoes, baked apples, cranberry sauce, rolls, butter, variety of desserts, including pumpkin pie, coffee and tea, all for the price of $6 for adults and $3 for children.

Tickets are on sale by members of the auxiliary and will also be available at the door.

The community is urged to make plans now to come to the Sperryville fire hall for a fine meal and help the hard working ladies, who in turn help the fire company to help citizens in time of need.

Halloween Dance
