The board of supervisors can not make cuts within categories of the school budget. In our work sessions, these line items are considered in our overall decision to approve money for each category.
Bottom line approval would certainly take pressure off the board of supervisors but it would further remove the people from the decision-making process.
I think offering a limited course in computer training and foreign language is necessary to stimulate curiosity and interest at an early age. This is already being done in other schools.
We should constantly study programs offered to see if there is duplication or changes needed.
