(5. I would, as I have in the past, solicit input from my constituents prior to filling a vacancy on the school board. The voters of my district are aware of my policy of appointing citizens of diverse backgrounds to fill vacancies on county boards. I do this for a reason and that is to encourage participation in county government by as many different people as possible. Government should include, rather than exclude, people from the decision making process.
7. I will consider the projected cost of a reassessment in 1985 as opposed to a reassessment in 198(5 or 1987, both in terms of the county’s revenue picture and the administrative costs, before I make up my mind on this issue.
8. I will look into the cost of the proposal and solicit input from the zoning administrator, clerk of court, and water and sewer authority before stating my position on this issue. I do not have enough information to make a commitment at this time.
