“'There used to be a town marker out there,” Miller agreed, noting that both the tax map and the map based on the town’s original 25 acres plus 300 yard extension set by the General Assembly correspond on the location of the town limits out Blacksburg Road. Both leave the small lot cluster outside the town, he said.

Over Boundary
“Is there a whole lot of sentiment regarding where the town boundary is set?” asked Supervisor Lane.
“I don’t know. Some want to get in; some want to get out. But I don’t know of any controversy in town whether they’re in or out,” Miller replied. “Do you?” he asked town treasurer Brad Fisher.
Fisher agreed that towns people seem to accept the boundaries for Washington set out on the county’s tax map.
