“Well, we’re gonna put an end to that,” Dennis Wingfield promised last Tuesday. Sure enough** April 11 was the first sunny Wednesday in many people’s memory. Wingfield’s interest was primarily in an upcoming science class field trip set for May 16 — a Wednesday.
Some of Wingfield’s students had noticed that “it always rains on Wednesdays.” So he decided to do what he could to change the pattern and make it stop raining on Wednesdays. “It would be easier to change the field trip and that’s no challenge,” he said.
