Geologist

To Visit

Dr. Karen Wier, a geologist on leave from the Coast Geodetic Survey will make a special appearance at this weekend’s Keesey Oriental and African sale, according to its organizer Truman J. Keesev.

Wier is also a jewelry designer, known throughout Northern Virginia for/her work with unusual materials. She has traveled throughout the mining and game areas of South Africa with her geologist father. She will bring South African marked stones to the sale, which her father recently sent to the states according to Keesey.

The sale is to be held in the Washington Town Hall today through Saturday from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. Proceeds go to benefit the Trinity Episcopal Church building fund.
