Harris told the council the two had bought the building approximately 2Vi years ago. “It is very large and we intended to do more than house our own family of four in it, but we couldn’t get the Health Department to okay our septic system.” Recently the couple was able to work out an agreement with neighbors James and Evelyn Willis to pump the wastewater onto their property.. This arrangement was approved by officials and Harris said she expects to have the system installed late this month.
On Friday, Miller reported he had been told by Lockhart that the soils were good in the area and that the agreement with the Willis family was satisfactory providing the septic field was sealed to prevent seepage since the water table is so high on the Foster property. Any permit should be contingent on Lockhart’s approval, Miller suggested.
