Instead, Washington’s Town Council delved during its initial meeting July 11 into issues that will affect the town’s future. The new council discussed numerous items, among them: •Block grants for a water-distribution system. •An ordinance to protect the town’s water supply. •An ordinance to preserve the historic district. •Unrestrained dogs. •Better utilization of Town Hall facilities.
•Town boundary lines. Six of seven council members were present at the meeting, which was attended by 10 citizens.
