Authority members were anxious for Mr. Gerhart to open bids on the project. The original schedule called for this to take place June 15.
Mr. Gerhart said his firm can be ready to place the legal advertisement four to six weeks after the Authority authorizes the firm to do so. The stumbling block, he said, was location of septic tanks, which would insure accurate bids.
Field location, during construction, is generally the accepted practice for sewer-construction contracts, Mr. Gerhart said.
To try to catch up, the Authority discussed meeting again in special session. The date has not yet been announced.
