The nuthatches like to live in holes in trees or in a bird box. They eat the suet cakes that Sharonj?uts out as well as nuts, sunflower seedfe and insects.
With the nuthatches at the feeder are the chickadees. They visit Sharon all winter, and then of them have learned to eat from her hand. “It happened almost by accident,” Sharon said. “I’d carry out the suet cake and they’d start eating it before I set it in the feeder. So, I named them. I could tell them apart partly because of their appearance, but mostly by their personalities-they were really distinctive.
