More recently, Mr. Davenport has turned to the filming of traditional fairy tales presented in a American style and setting. The films that will be shown this weekend are, “Hansel and Gretel: An Appalachian Version,” and “Bearskin.”
Both are part of his series “From The Brothers Grim,” which was recently recommended by the National Education Association.
“Bearskin” was named Best Children’s Entertainment Film of 1984 by the American Film Festival.
