Hospital Laboratory
Receives Accreditation
C. Douglas Rosen, administrator, Warren Memorial Hospital, has received notification that the hospital’s Laboratory has been awarded a twoyear accreditation by the Commission on Laboratory Accreditation of the College of American Pathologists based on results of a recent on-site inspection.
Special recognition was directed to Jeffrey Skovronsky, MD, Laboratory Director, and Robert Campbell, Laboratory Manager/Chief Technologist, and the Laboratory Staff on the excellence of services provided to patients and their physicians.
The peer-review program uses volunteer pathologists, doctoral scientists, medical technologists, and pathology residents to inspect and evaluate laboratory services. Records and quality control of the laboratory for the preceding two years are examined, as well as, the education and qualifications of the total staff, the adequacy of the facilities, the equipment, laboratory safety, and laboratory management to determine how well the laboratory is serving the patient.
