Sharon came here almost five years ago after the death of her first husband and dissatisfaction with her career forced her to make a change. “I never liked the city,” she said. '‘I wanted to be somewhere like this, but 1 guess I didn’t realize how much until after I moved. Now I know that I should have been living here long ago.”
Sharon had hiked and traveled along Skyline Drive and she originally looked for land that bordered the Park. “I looked in Front Royal, Madison, and all oVer 'the county for a piece of land backed up against the park,” she said. “All were too expensive-and too largefor someone like me.”
One day Sharon mentioned to her veterinarian in Falls Church-also a bird watcher-that she was looking for country property. He suggested that she try the Washington-Sperryville area and she did, finding the cozy, sunny house on the lower Red Oak slope.
“I saw it on Friday and signed a contract for it on Monday,” she said.
