Upcoming Events Fashion show “Autumn Scenes at Aileen” fashion show will be held at Rappahannock County High School on Oct. 12 at 2 p.m. Admission is $2 and $1 for children under 10.
‘Beverly Hills Cop’ “Beverly Hills Cop” is a wonderful vehicle for the immense talents of Eddie Murphy, and will be shown on Oct. 12 and 13 at 7:30 p.m. in the Gay St. Theatre. As Axel Foley, a detective from Detroit, Murphy descends upon the decorous Beverly Hills police force using all the tricks from the streets of Motown. There is mutual culture shock. Great fun. The R rating is for the rampant profanity.
Library programs Bill Young will present a slide show and information about Russia/Siberia on Oct. 17 at 7:30 p.m. in the Rappahannock County Library.
Sean Kilpatrick will give a slide/talk presentation entitled “An Overview of Some Western National Parks” on Nov. 14 at 7:30 p.m. in the library.
Share fair picnic All 4-H members, leaders and those interested in 4-H are encouraged to attend the district’s annual fall conference at the 4-H Center at 9 a.m. on Oct. 19. Bring your own lunch. There is a $2 charge. For reservations, call the Extension office at 675-3619. 4-H’ers’ hike All trekkers are invited to join Rappahannock, Madison and Orange County 4-H’ers in a hike at White Oak Canyon on Oct. 26. Hikers will meet at the Extension office in Washington and leave by 8:30 a.m. They will return by 4 p.m. Drivers and hikers may make reservations at the Extension office by calling 675-3619. Bring a brown bag lunch and drink. Fall auction The Amissville Fire Department will hold its fall auction on Oct. 26 at 7:30 p.m. at the fire hall. Donations will be greatly appreciated.
