Home Economics Clubs first used statewide. The first Agricultural Club Letter was produced. The name was changed in 1919 to Virginia 4-H Club Letter. It later was changed from a twice a month publication to a monthly Head, Heart, Hands and Health.
1918-First state short course for boys was held at Virginia Tech and the first state-wide judging contest was held at the state fair.
1920-The first state livestock judging team entered a national contest in Atlanta. The Agricultural and Home Economics Clubs officially became 4-H clubs.
1922- The Virginia chapter of AllStars was organized with nine charter and honorary members.
1923- Home demonstration clubs established. First club at Dinwiddie County. Name changed in 1972 to Extension Homemakers.
1928-First camp owned and operated by 4-H members —Jamestown — began operation.
