“We measured that lot, but we’d still need a variance to build there,” said Tims.
“When the other land becomes available, it will cost so much to build that we may not be able to do anything within 10 years,” said Mary Jamieson, another member of the feasibility committee. “We need space now.”
Sims said that there would be more room to build on the south side (to the parking lot). The library’s septic field is on that side, though, and no building is allowed over a septic field, she said.
