Estabrook cited examples of various committees that incorporate community members, school faculty and administrators as the system’s answer to improving community involvement with the schools. He said a high school newsletter has been started.
Administrators have planned activities for the three teacher inservice days as an improvement, Estabrook said. To create more effective administrative/staff communication, he said adminstrators are staying in their offices more to be available. Increased administration supervisory support has been addressed by a new teacher workshop, committees and plans for adminstrators to take over classrooms for a few days.
One of the committees involves 25 teachers who have volunteered to help write curriculums for all subject areas incorporating state Standards of Learning.
