Estabrook said he will update the board on plans to address other “Topics for Action.”
“We’re going to get some things done,” Estabrook said. “We shouldn’t compromise high standards and I think that we have the staff that can make sure that doesn’t happen.”
Massie said she was proud of the meeting because of the evidence of hard work in various areas.
“I am gratified by the public support we’ve been experiencing lately,” Massie said. “We still have some problems, but we’re getting there faster because the community is helping.”
Two members of the community, Peggy and Arthur Smith, of the Sperryville Antique Market, sent a check for $200 they raised for baseball equipment for the high school team. The board also adopted plans for a new sound system in the elementary school that was prepared and will be installed by community members.
