The 29th annual Rappahannock County House Tour and Dried Flower Sale will be held Oct. 19-20.
The event, held every year during the height of the fall colors, is presented by the Churchwomen of Bromfield Parish.
Headquarters will be the parish hall of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Washington.
That weekend, homes will be open on Saturday from 11 a. m. until 5 p.m., and on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Block tickets are on sale for $5 and tickets for each house are $2. A box lunch will be provided by the women of Washington First Baptist Church on both days at the headquarters.
Tea will be served both days at Ben Venue, six miles east of Washington.
One of the houses open will be the Rush River House, the home of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene S. Leggett. This contemporary house in Harris Hollow four miles northeast of Washington at the approach to Big Devil Stairs once served as a ski lodge.
It is located approximately four miles northwest of Washington on Va. 622.
It was begun in 1949 by Mr. Hickman, a Rappahannock County lawyer. During the period from 1959 to 1973, it served as a ski lodge while the nearby slopes were in operation.
