The Slate Mills Baptist Church held their Easter service at 6 a.m. Sunday with Sunday School and worship services at the regular hours. Rev. Harold Eaton, pastor, was in charge of the services.
Our deepest sympathy is extended to the family of Mrs. Virginia Petty, who died Sunday evening in Orange County Nursing Home.
Meadowood has been the scene of much activity recently as Mrs. Loraine Robson’s new granddaughter Emily, daughter of Mr. and M*-s. Arthur Neufeld of Patterson, N. J., made her first, visit to “Grandma’s home.” Also spending several days here was Mrs. Robson’s mother, Mrs. Jeanne Finke of Florida, who became ill and is now a patient in Culpeper Memorial Hospital. Prior to this, Mrs. Robson made a trip north, visiting in Fort Lee, Wood Cliff Lake, Jersey Shore and Atlantic City, N. J.
Mrs. Harry Morrison of Winchester was here on Thursday to accompany her mother Mrs. Cary Thornhill to Charlottesville for her checkup at University Hospital. Mrs. Morrison remained overnight with her mother and they enjoyed a visit to Mr. and Mrs. James Butler in Arlington on Friday.
