Clerk/carrier

applications

Sectional Center Manager/Postmaster Shirly B. McDonald, Charlottesville Management Area, announced recently that the Clerk/Carrier Examination will be given in the near future and urged that all interested persons apply to take the job related test that can lead to Postal Service employment. Applications will be accepted at all 227 Zip Code offices with career clerk/carrier positions.

This examination will be used to establish the “227 Area Eligibility Register” for the position of Clerk/Carrier. Applicants will have the opportunity to select three post offices for employment consideration.

It is not the intent of the Postal Service to give the impression that there will be great numbers of people hired in the coming months. A limited number of vacancies will be filled during the next two years at the “227” Zip Code Offices by hiring qualified individuals who pass the examination.

Individuals wishing to take this examination must complete application Form 2479 A/B, which will be available at any 227 Zip Code Office (with career Clerk/Carrier positions) April 7 through April 11, 1986, only. Completed applications which are mailed must be postmarked no later than April 11, 1986. Applicants will be notified of the date, time and place of the examination at a later date.
