Compliance with those regulations will double, “maybe in some cases, triple,” the operating cost for a landfill in a rural county such as Rappahannock, Mr. Forman said.
The county current privatelyowned landfill does not meet those regulations. “Mr. Clark came in about two years before they took effect,” the landfill overseer noted.
In three to four weeks, if Rappahannock’s landfill is found to be at capacity, “Mr. Clark would be informed and told he has to submit a closure plan within a 30-dav period.”
