do I think of British schools, and it would be difficult to say. I do not think I have seen the schools run at 100 percent the entire year.

There is so much that usually goes on, so I am told. Yet, I have not seen a school soccer game; I have not marked a report card nor have I attended any after school activities. But this does not say I am ready to come home.

Life after school has been enjoyable. I find the staff very active in sports. As a staff, we play other nearby school faculties in hockey, basketball, soccer and volleyball. - It is great fun and a good way to socialize with other staff as people and not always teachers.

We regularly play these sports and even though some of them are not “my cup of tea” I always give them my best shot. As they put it, “the Yank is always good for a laugh,” which is really true when it comes to me and a basketball.

Oh, incidentally, the word “Yank” is what all visitors from the United States are called. Being a native of New York, it was nothing new to be called “Yankee.” Even when I moved to Virginia and had a mother-in-law calling me a “damned Yankee for staying” it did not bother me. ' But when Lisa was called a “Yank” she nearly hit the roof.

Until next time.
