Students of Wakefield School have been invited to represent Virginia at the Harvard University Model Congress to be held in Boston from April 3-5.
The four-day conference, organized by the Political Science Department of Harvard University, will simulate the functioning of the United States Senate and House of Representatives. At the Model Congress high school students from all 50 states will confront important political issues with the aim of gaining a better appreciation of the American legislative process.
Each student has been assigned to represent one of the congressmen or senators of the state delegation. In preparation for their role at the congress, the students are required to research the political views of the district and individuals they are to represent.
