Where I do not want to see Rappahannock’s season shortened, I do feel it is a policy mistake to have such a great difference in length of seasons in neighboring counties. My statement was, that if our season being almost four times as long as those counties west of the Blue Ridge was an attempt to properly manage population on either side of the mountain, it had some very undesirable side effects, and that maybe the season’s length should be more similar in these neighboring counties and a better population management policy should be effected. This out of county road hunting congests our roads, abuses the rights of our residents to peaceful enjoyment of their property, is accompanied by accumulation of litter and trash, and contributes to the deterioration of our roads.
