Recycling Day Nov. 19

The Rappahannock Anti-Litter League and You (RALLY) will! hold the third Community Recycling Day on Saturday, Nov. 19 from 911 a.m. at the Rappahannock County Park on Rt. 211. White plastics (bleach bottles, milk jugs, oil containers), glass, aluminum cans, newspapers and magazines will all be accepted. At this time, tin and steel cans will not. Please bundle or bag newspapers and magazines, however do not use synthetic, plastic or wire string, or plastic bags. Glass should be separated into clear, amber and green, and all containers should be rinsed. Labels may be left on. For more information, contact litter coordinator Nina Stamer (675-3810).

The art world's workings

Answering the question, “How does the art world work?” on Friday, Nov. 11, will be a panel with two museum curators and three gallery directors. They’ll explore the policies, experiences, finances and politics behind what gets exhibited and what gets bought and sold. The panel is a presentation of the Artists’ Forum of the Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community. The panel will appear at the Middle Street Gallery in Washington at 7:30 p.m. For more information, call Sally Nash at 987-8451.

Dance team to appear

Thompson and Trammel, an innovative and energetic dance duo> will present a program of dance at the Gay St. Theater on Saturday, Dec. 10. Their concert will include selections jrom. their award-winning performance in Washington, D.C. The program begins at 8 p.m.; and tickets will be available at the regular RAAC ticket outlets.
