Of course, buy things that come in recyclable containers, but even better is if you live in a place like Rappahannock: you can buy sodas in returnable bottles which is better than recycling the glass, and it’s the lowest price for you. Believe me, taking those bottles back to the store makes you feel good; it makes up for something else you might have done. (Last time I checked, you cannot even find returnable bottles in Richmond or most other places. Be thankful.)
See, I told you this was going to change your life. One other thing. This is another category, called hazardous waste. You don’t have to live in a place like Love Canal to find it. Try paint thinner or furniture polishes, or the stuff in spray cans that will remove unwanted bugs from your life. Try garden chemicals.
