suggestion was made by Mayor Morehouse during October’s council meeting, and on Monday he confirmed that the deal has been finalized.
The thrift shop will be open for one last weekend, Mr. Morehouse added. Residents of Rappahannock County who have a need for clothing or other items are invited to come to the shop and pick out what they need. There will be no charge for the items.
According to council member Nan Thomasson, who is coordinating the volunteer cleanup, the shop will be open Friday, Nov. 11, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. On Saturday and Sunday, volunteers will be at the shop packing the goods into boxes.
“They can come on Saturday or Sunday, but they won’t have the selection that they might find if they come on Friday,” Mrs. Thomasson said.
