give suggestions and helpful advice on quitting to those who call.
This is the twelfth year the American Cancer Society has invited smokers to join together to "kick the habit.” Last year 18.5 million American smokers quit or cut down for the day. There are an estimated 50 million Americans seventeen or older who smoke cigarettes.
Smokers who need help on November 17 should call the “Quit Line"' at 1-800-ACS-2345. The American Cancer Society’s toll-free number is open weekdays.
