Lowell Bolyard
Lowell E. Bolyard, 54, of Solon, Ohio died on Oct. 15, at Anna Maria 5 of Aurora, Inc. Nursing Facility, of 1 pneumonia. Mr. Bolyard had been in a'coma since Aug. 20, 1987, after be- 1 ing in an automobile accident in c Olean, N.Y. 1
Mr. Bolyard was born in Aurora, i W.Va., on April 19, 1934, and is the 1 son of the late Raymond and Alta ■ t Bolyard. He received his bachelor of science degree from Shepard’s Col- 1 lege in Shepardstown, W.Va., and 1 his master’s degree in education 1 from West Virginia University in i Morgantown, W.Va. 1
In 1956 Mr. Bolyard moved to 5 Solon and began teaching social j studies at Solon High School. He 1 was married to Joyce Nethers on 1 Aug. 28, 1960. During his teaching < career he belonged to the Solon Teachers’ Association, was the head of 1 the Social Studies Department, manager of the Solon School Em- 1 ployees’ Federal Credit Union and i received the Young Educators 1 Award for 1967. Mr. Bolyard is sur- > vived by his wife Joyce; children, Carla B. Drusky, Garfield, Richard < C., California, Anne M., Virginia, Melissa K., Solon and Melinda B. Fugatt, Virginia; five brothers, Kent, Doyle, Keith, Marvin and Larry Bolyard; one sister, Ruth Christman; and three grandchildren.
. Funeral services were held at the Solon United Methodist Church on Oct. 19.
The family suggests that contributions be madfe to the Ronald McDonald House, 780 West Ferry Street, Buffalo, N.Y, 14222.
Funeral arrangements were handled by the Kindrich-McHugh Funeral Home of Solon.
