read-a-thon
The 18 second graders at Wakefield School have won the school’s World Book Encyclopedia Read-athon, according to Mickie Burton, Wakefield librarian, who coordinated the program.
Reading 166 books in a six-week period, the class beat out the other lower school classes and will receive several nice prizes — a 16-volume set of Child Craft books, a classroom set of encyclopedias, other classroom materials, and an ice cream
