The WSA also is moving closer to finding a way to get its Sperryville customers’ holding tanks pumped out. The three-year contract with Rosebud Septic Service of Culpeper was concluded in December 1988.
WSA members have been trying since then to find a less expensive method of handling the problem, and have considered buying a truck and having plant manager Tim Falls use it to pump approximately one tank per week and put the effluent in the sewage treatment plant.
To do that, however, will require another permit from the state Health Department. Mr. Swindler said he had talked with Joseph Burner in the Culpeper office and felt it would not be difficult to get the permit. Mr. Burner indicated he needed some figures on how much would be pumped and how it would be regulated, Mr. Swindler said.
