Kiser's talk rescheduled

On Friday, Feb. 23, at 8 p.m. at the Gay Street Theater, John W. Kiser III, author of the recently published Communist Entrepreneurs, Unknown Innovators in the Global Economy, will speak on “The Opening of the Eastern Block-Socialism in Disintegration or Renewal?” Mr. Kiser will have recently returned from three weeks in Czechslovakia and the U.S.S.R. This talk and following discussion is free and open to the public, sponsored by RAAC and the- Rappahannock County Public Library.

RAA baseball registration

Registration for Rappahannock Athletic Association baseball season will be held March 3 and 10 from 9 a.m. until noon at Amissville fire hall and Rappahannock Elementary School. Teams are Tee Ball ages 6-7 and must be 6 by Aug. 1; Minors ages 8-9 and some 10 for first timers; Bambinos ages 10-12 and Babe Ruth ages 13-15. Spaghetti dinner

Amissville Volunteer Fire Department will be sponsoring an allyou-can-eat spaghetti dinner on Saturday, Feb. 17 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the fire hall. The meal will consist of spaghetti, salad, bread, beverage and dessert. Cost is $5 for adults and $3.50 for children 12 and under.

Players discuss future

The Rappahannock Players Inc. invites everyone who is interested in community theatre and the performing arts to a potluck dinner on Saturday, Feb. 17 at Coon Holler. Plan to bring a covered dish and ideas for future plays, films, videos, dance performances, or field trips to see performances.
