This is not to say that I believe there was anything wrong with the process which developed the current Town boundaries. Since last year when I was involved with the issues of the properties that straddle the boundaries, I have discussed the process which occurred during the survey with several people, including Mr. Miller.

I am convinced that the process was handled in a legal manner. I understand that Mr. Miller considers it one of the major achievements of his administration and I regret that he did not publicly acknowledge it at the Planning Commission Meeting.

If Mr. Smoot would like an independent view of what happened, I recommend that he talk to either Peter Kramer (who was mayor after Mr. Miller — when the new boundary was ratified although he made no decision) or Doug Baumgardner (who acted as town attorney.

The individual who spoke to Mr. Smoot also apparently tried to indicate that some people in Town are privileged while he is not.

He asked Mr. Smoot why the owner of the house next door could build an addition, while Mr. Smoot could not build a house for his daughter. Since I once owned the house next door, I take this personally. The comparison is obviously invalid and meant to discredit me before a citizen of the Town. Mr. Smoot can also build an addition to his house, just as I did. Indeed, I believe his house already has an addition.

Further, I could not build another house on the property next door any more than Mr. Smoot can build one on his property. There is no difference between our rights.
