RCES students win DAR awards

Rappahannock County Elementary School students captured the top two awards in the essay contest sponsored by the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution. Jessica Arnold, a seventh grader, took first prize in the contest, and her essay on Eli Whitney, titled , "An American Inventor, 1175-1850" has been submitted to the state competition. Second prize went to Shannon Eastham, .also a seventh grader at RCES. The Good ' Citizen Award for Rappahannock County jwent to Benji Roy, a senior at RCHS. The contest was organized by the Culpeper .-Minute Men Chapter' NSDAR, in ‘ ^conjunction with its observation of ^American History Month in February. K> • , Republican county caucus March 23

The Rappahannock County I • .‘Republican Committee will hold a mass C^meetingon Friday, March 23 at 8;p.m. at > the courthouse to elect delegates td the :Seventh District Republican Convention, to -|be held in Charlottesville on May 12.
