He reassured those gathered at the Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church in Scrabble that neither spray material represents any health risk to mammals, but suggested those at home when the spray planes come over might find it more pleasant to stay inside during the spraying and suggested that people not hang wash out on the day the spray is scheduled.
He said that the spraying will be done in late April or early May, depending on how the caterpillars develop this year. Local radio stations will be notified, to begin announcing the spraying schedule a day or so before it is scheduled. The spraying will be done in early morning or in the evening, when winds are low, when it is not raining, but not when humidity is very low, he said.
