Emma R. Morton
Emma R. Morton, 73, of Warrenton, died March 9 at her home.
The funeral was held March 13 at Mount Morris Baptist Church in Hume with the Rev. Edward White officiating. Burial was in Mount Morris Cemetery.
Mrs. Morton was bom June 16, 1916, in Rappahannock County, the daughter of the late Wesley and Bertha Payton. She was a member and deaconess of Mount Morris Baptist Church, served on the senior usher board and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She was married to the late Deacon John Thomas Morton.
Surviving are nine, daughters, Daisy Monroe of Falls Church, Delores Matthews of Landover, Md., Bertha Garnett of Catlett, Octavia Grant of Baileys Crossroads, Peggy Chloe, Emmer Carter of Fairfax, Ressa Payton, Mary Morton Brown of Warrenton and Louise Morton ol Middleburg; one sister, Katherine Williams of Manassas; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were handled by Joynes Funeral Home in Warrenton.
