Art from nature for young people

A two-week workshop taught by Cathy Dancing Reed using the abundance of nature to make artwork and gifts. Wreathmaking, basketry and creative use of natural objects are to be covered. All materials are provided by the artist. Session B will begin Mondays, March 19 and 26 from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Dance at Amissville

The band Nightfall will be playing for a dance sponsored by the Amissville Fire Department on Saturday, March 31 from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. You must be 21 and proper dress is required. For reservations call Sheila Scott at 937-4357.

Childrens' trout fishing

Trout Unlimited’s 10th annual free trout fishing party for children will be held on opening day, Saturday, March 17, starting at 9 a.m. on the Rose River in Madison County, along Route 670 between Criglersville and Syria. Only boys and girls 12 and under may fish there that day. Adults may accompany their children but may not fish. No charge, no license needed. Bring your own tackle and bait. 'The Bear'

The movie The Bear will be playing at the Gay Street Theater on Saturday and Sunday, March 17 and 18 at 7:30 p.m. each evening, and Saturday, March 17 at 2:00 p.m. In the British Columbia of the 1880’s, a young cub loses his mother in a rock slide, wanders alone for a while, and then takes up with a gigantic, roaring male.

Benefit auction for SVFD

Murder mystery at School House

“Green Murder,” in honor of St. Patrick will be held on Friday, March 23 at 7 p.m. at The School House Restaurant in Flint Hill. Reservations are currently being taken for the murder mystery show with limited seats available. Mystery starts at 7 p.m. with a clue gathering cocktail hour, the mystery ends around 10 p.m. For information on reservations call 675-3030.
