me riappanannocK L,egai services provides legal advice, assistance and representation to low income people in the Culpeper Services Area which includes Rappahannock County. Legal Services served 520 clients last year, many from Rappahannock. United Way’s allocation to Rappahannock Legal Services is $10,000.
Thirteen percent of all the Community Services Center clients come from Rappahannock County. United Way provides funds to CSC to help with Goldborough House and to help fund the 24-hour Emergency Crisis hotline. Goldsborough House provides a safe residence for mentally retarded adults. The 24-hour hotline is a service provided for crisis intervention for the mentally ill and substance abused people needing someone to listen, to counsel, or to refer them to other services. United Way’s allocation to the Goldsborough House and the Emergency Crisis telephone is $10,525.
The Virginia Skyline Girl Scouts Council covers 13 counties including Rappahannock. The Girl Scouts provides quality programs to help young girls from 5-17 years of age. This program is in partnership with adult volunteers from each of these counties. United Way’s allocation to the Girl Scouts this year is $7,600.
