The Bed & Breakfast Guild of Rappahannock County (Washington, VA) will sponsor two progressive dinners this spring.
Guests, limted to 24, will begin the Friday, April 20, candlelight progressive dinner at 6:30 p.m., with libations and hors d’oeuvres on the veranda of Sycamore Hill House, high atop Menefee Mountain.
Soup and salad will be served at the charming Victorian Foster-Harris House in the heart of historic Washington.
Dinner participants will sample an entree in the original classrooms at the beautifully restored SchoolHouse Restaurant in Flint Hill. Coffee and dessert completes the evening at Heritage House, a tasteful 1837 manor house in the village of Washington.
The second progressive dinner on Sunday, April 22 begins at 1 p.m. at Bunree in Amissville, with potables and canapes in this gracious farm house. Soup and salad comes at Caledonia Farm, a federal-style 1812 farm house nestled in the Blue Ridge Foothills.
Guests will then drive to Thistle Hill in Boston, Va, situated on a hillside facing the Blue Ridge, for a main course. Dessert and accompaniments will then be sampled at the Conyers House, a restored 1815 former general store, and the county’s oldest inn.
Spring is one of the most beautiful seasons in this gracious community, according to a spokeswoman for the guild.
The cost of either dinner is $40 per person or $75 per person for both dinners including tax, tips and gratuities.
