David and Anna Marie Davis of Washington and James and Carolyn Manwaring of Woodville will host Youth For Understanding high school exchange students from other countries for the 1990-91 academic year, announced Dick and Pat Helmer, the organization’s volunteer area representatives in this part of northwest Virginia.
This summer, Youth For Understanding expects seven students from other countries to arrive in this area to live with local families and attend high school, Mr. Helmer said.
“Host families provide room and board,” the Helmers explained. “But more importantly, they share their daily lives with a new family member, showing their exchange student what life is like in America.”
