The 1990 Regular Session of the General Assembly is now over. Approximately half of more than 2,000 bills that were introduced have passed both the House and Senate and are awaiting Governor Wilder’s signature.
Two bills I introduced that have passed and been forwarded to the Governor’s office are:
SB 11: relates to disposing of a dog that is found killing or harming farm animals. This bill gives the court the discretion to allow the owner to find a home for the dbg in another state instead of ordering the dog to be killed immediately.
SB 97: provides a private landowner immunity from liability arising from activities on the property if the activities are sponsored by a county, city, or town and there is an agreement between the landowner and the governmental unit for such use.
I introduced SB 206 which would delay construction of a 200-bed prison facility in Culpeper. This bill passed the Senate but I requested that it be stricken from the docket in the House Health, Welfare and Institutions Committee after receiving assurance from Secretary of Public
